For the most memorable happy hour of your entire vacation, treat yourself to a Sunset Cocktail Cruise on the Sundancer. You can live the life of the rich and famous on a gorgeous yacht for only $12 per person. I really think this is one of the best deals in Flagler County.
This gorgeous 117’ yacht was specially commissioned by the Hammock Beachsm Resort, Palm Coast’s most elegant vacation destination, and was designed specifically to host events like weddings and other social gatherings. Previously reserved just for Hammock Beach Resort’s special events, Sundancer is now open to the public for Sunset Cruises.
I had the opportunity to go on a Wednesday evening—perfect way to cap off Hump Day. We boarded Sundancer just before 5 p.m. Oh yeah, I could live like this! The interior was as impressive as the outside. It was like a lushly appointed floating two-story living room with a variety of cozy seating areas and tables for those who preferred to remain in the air conditioned comfort of the yacht. The windows wrapped around the ship providing a stunning view of the Intracoastal Waterway.
There are two full bars and a tapas-style menu offers an interesting variety of light cocktail snacks like Chili Mango Thai Chicken Wings with Cucumber Sticks and Teriyaki-Ginger Glazed Sesame Pork Riblets as well as the Classic Shrimp Cocktail with Lemon and Bloody Mary Dipping Sauce. All of the hors d'oeuvres are priced at a reasonable $5 and are perfect for sharing.
For two hours we cruised the calm, peaceful waters while a talented singer/guitarist performed laid-back tunes, adding the perfect touch to the relaxing ambience. I sat in the cozy salon and listened for a while, then strolled around the outside deck and checked out the amazing views.
All kinds of birds flew by—great blue herons, ospreys, pelicans—and we even saw some dancing dolphins. I felt as if I were on vacation and those of you who really are on vacation will definitely feel that this is exactly what you should be doing—cruising along enjoying the ultimate in luxury. It doesn’t get much better than this….
Sunset Cruises on the Sundancer are scheduled on Wednesdays and select Thursday and Friday nights throughout the year, so call for an updated cruise schedule. Additionally, on Sundays the Sundancer hosts a Brunch Cruise including bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys and a Sunset Dinner Cruise featuring a prime rib buffet. Both of these cruises are $35 for adults and $12.50 for children ages 4 – 12.
