I secretly love the holiday season. I listen to Christmas songs daily - downloading Amazon's freebie during the 24 days of Christmas. I quietly wish for a white Christmas, but hope it’s not bad enough to affect the roads. I don’t do too much decorating, however -- but that’s why sometimes you need a trip to some place like Koziar’s Christmas Village to get your holiday fix.
For 63 years, Koziar’s Christmas Village has been a mecca for Christmas lovers of all ages. With nearly half a million twinkling lights along a weaving tour of colored displays, glass buildings, Santa’s Toy Shoppe, indoor and outdoor displays of a variety of Christmas themes, and of course Santa himself.
New this year, Koziar’s Christmas Village now also features a handcrafted outdoor train display, complete with multiple lines, stations and village.
Koziar’s Christmas Village is open Friday and Saturday nights through Thanksgiving - and then daily after that through New Year’s Day.
A full walking tour takes about an hour, longer if you have children in tow.
Group and bus rates are available. Prices are reasonable: $8 for ages 13 and up, $7 for seniors, $6 for ages 6-12, and children 5 and younger are free.
Also ongoing now through New Year’s Eve is American Music Theatre’s 2011 Christmas Show!
Grab the family for a night of dazzle and delight. AMT’s critically acclaimed singers, dancers and orchestra return with an all new holiday show, featuring the very best holiday music, dancing - and of course a visit from Santa himself.
This year’s original show, “Winter Wonderland,” is snowy and cheerful and features the vocal and dancing talents of professional performers from across the country. You’ll enjoy both sacred and secular holiday carols and songs -- not to mention the laughs in this upbeat, family friendly show.
Tickets are $19.50 for children, $39 for adults. AMT members are $29. Print a $5.00 OFF Coupon Now!
Hershey’s town-wide celebration, “Christmas in Hershey,” also kicks off this weekend -- but I’ll have more details on that in next week’s post!
