BLACKDUCK, MN

Blackduck, Minnesota, is a charming small town located near the city of Bemidji, and visitors to the area won't want to miss the three large duck statues the town is known for.

Downtown is the Original Duck, a 16-foot cement duck, which sits on Main Street next to the fire department. But it's not actually the original—this duck was built in 1942 to replace a less sturdy statue. The second duck, a fiberglass statue, is the most realistic and was donated to the town by the Blackduck Lions Club in 1983. The third and final duck is five-feet-long paper mache creation, and it's perched outside the Drake Motel.

Blackduck is a great place to enjoy the great outdoors, and locals and tourists alike spend time relaxing in Pine Tree Park, near the Blackduck Municipal Golf Course. And don't miss local events such as the annual Blackduck Woodcarver's Festival in July where craftsmen from across the nation congregate to display their woodworking crafts. The festival also features music, food and a variety of afts and crafts.
